Gustomio streamlines its delivery operations with PTV OptiFlow

Recognized as a Growth Champion for five consecutive years by Les Échos and ranked three times among Europe’s fastest-growing companies by the Financial Times, Gustomio (formerly Gusto), a leading wholesaler of Italian products, continues its expansion by implementing PTV OptiFlow, the route optimization software developed by PTV Logistics.

Since its creation in 2015, Gustomio has seen rapid success with a simple concept: supplying high-quality Italian products to foodservice professionals. The company recorded an impressive +526% growth between 2020 and 2023, securing its place among the 2025 Les Échos Growth Champions and in the Financial Times 2024 ranking. In 2024, sales reached nearly €30 million. Behind this performance lies a rigorous logistics system. “Customer service and transport are inseparable. The real challenge is distribution,” says Laurent Knibbe, founder of Gustomio.

To support its growth and guarantee top-quality service for its customers (primarily restaurateurs in the Paris region), Gustomio has adopted PTV OptiFlow. Fully operational since late 2024, the SaaS platform optimizes delivery routes in seconds from the company’s logistics hub in Wissous, Essonne, near the Rungis market. Orders are received in the morning, prepared from 3 p.m., and the first deliveries are dispatched as early as 7 a.m. the next day. This just-in-time management of dry, ambient, and frozen products requires precision and discipline. “As order volumes grew, manual planning became too complex and increasingly error-prone,” explains Laurent Knibbe. “We needed a solution to automate the process.”

20% reduction in operating costs

Rolled out in just four months, PTV OptiFlow integrates directly with Gustomio’s ERP system to instantly generate delivery plans. It optimizes fleet routes and balances transportation, taking into account load type, weight, and delivery points. This has led to a 20% reduction in operating costs, maximizing the efficiency of Gustomio’s fleet of around 20 trucks while cutting fuel consumption.

While PTV OptiFlow automates planning, it also allows manual adjustments, particularly for address sectorization. “In Paris, crossing from one street to the next can mean entering a different arrondissement, which used to create duplicate deliveries. By fine-tuning plans within PTV OptiFlow, we can adapt them to real-world conditions,” says Laurent Knibbe. “In the end, we have a solution fully tailored to our needs. We deliver better, consume less, and pollute less,” concludes the CEO.
