SCR Informatiques certifies medical transport using PTV Developer

By migrating to PTV Logistics’ SaaS platform PTV Developer, SCR Informatiques — a software developer dedicated to medical transport and based in Erbray (Loire-Atlantique) — ensures optimal traceability for the transport of nearly 5,000 light medical vehicles (VSL) and taxis in France and the French overseas territories. The result: certified routes, per-kilometer billing, and improved management of shared transport.

The company SCR Informatiques, based in Erbray, is entering a new digital era by adopting the SaaS API platform PTV Developer, designed by software provider PTV Logistics. The developer and integrator of software dedicated to medical transport recently migrated to this solution by integrating three families of APIs from the platform into its SCR’AMBGES solution, a turnkey ERP that enables ambulance companies to manage their operations from end to end. To ensure full traceability of the transport services carried out by its clients, SCR Informatiques relies on PTV Logistics’ geocoding, routing and distance calculation, and map rendering APIs. These components are also used in its other digital solution, SCR’Urgences, which is dedicated to supervising private ambulances during emergency interventions triggered by SAMU (the French emergency medical service).

Certified billing based on actual distances

Thanks to these features, the SCR’AMBGES software optimizes ambulance routes for more than 1,000 companies in France and the French overseas territories. It provides a much more detailed view of the journeys to be carried out, with the aim of reducing both kilometers traveled and driving times. SCR’AMBGES converts addresses into precise location points — essential for transporting new patients — and accurately calculates distances and driving times, taking into account real traffic conditions and historical data. Finally, thanks to its mapping module, SCR Informatiques’ ERP can retrace the actual routes taken by vehicles. The result: companies can move from a fixed flat-rate billing per kilometer to certified billing based on the kilometers actually traveled, allowing them to benefit from more advantageous rates from the French National Health Insurance Fund.

Better management of shared transport

Another major advantage offered by PTV Logistics’ APIs is the ability to identify simultaneous transport opportunities for multiple patients grouped in the same vehicle, in order to optimize routes. The software streamlines trips by displaying them in real time on the map and calculating the necessary detours in terms of both distance and duration. This win-win matching process enables transport companies to meet the requirement of 5% shared medical transport, introduced with Decree No. 2025-202 of February 28, 2025. This regulated form of carpooling helps reduce costs for the French social security system while remaining fully compliant with patients’ medical constraints.

Thanks to the integration of PTV Logistics’ APIs, SCR Informatiques’ ERP provides medical transport companies with a comprehensive solution: centralization of transport requests (medical prescriptions, schedules, addresses, etc.), route planning taking into account patient compatibilities (conditions, distances, etc.), optimization of shared trips for more efficient allocation, route visualization, and certified billing based on actual data.

"The collaboration with PTV Logistics has always gone very well. We have a relationship built on trust, with knowledgeable and available contacts, and access to all the features we need to optimize our tool. Using algorithms as powerful and reliable as those from PTV Logistics makes all the difference," emphasizes Frédéric Nunge, founder of SCR Informatiques.
